Hope And A Prayer

With record setting cold temperatures, (minus 33C with the wind chill), and heaps of snow and ice, I am not getting outside at all. Luckily I have some great critters visit my yard, that I can enjoy and photograph from the windows.

House Sparrow, hoping for spring.

Black Squirrel (Twix), praying for spring.

Female Downy Woodpecker, just eating!

Getting out is certainly a challenge right now, that's for sure. You do have wonderful wildlife right outside your window so no need for you to go far!

(i know it's not much, but if it makes you feel any better, we had snow and sleet here in texas today, too.)

Karen, those are super views of the wildlife through your window. I think I'll have to go and clean mine!

I may join Twix in praying for spring, Karen. I have been finding it difficult to get out or stay out for long this winter too. Let's hope March is nicer! ;-))

Darling little animals. I wonder how they stay warm in these horrible conditions -- feathers and fur only do so much!

Wonderful winter shots of the animals. I know they're ready for spring.

Our wind chill factor was not that low, but tomorrow is slated for -20 degrees F. So I'm glad my doctor appointment was today and not Tuesday!
an apt caption for the squirrel! I love also the bird sitting on the swing.

Stunning images Karen. I'll trade you some of your cold and snow for our heat and lack of rain! Hope you keep warm and safe.

Oh Karen, these are wonderful pictures of your little visiters. You are lucky you can stay in ... I have a dog ... a very energetic dog which I have to take out several times a day no matter what the temperature. I really have become very used to the cold and we do have fun outside, but being bundled up in a cushy chair in front of a fireplace ... I could go for that :)

Beautiful images of birds and squirrel.
Perfect photographed, my compliments.
Nature is really upset, we have no winter here in the Netherlands.
Now it's 6 degrees above 0.

Your weather made it onto our UK news Karen. Stay indoors and keep doing your photos like that. It will warm up soon I'm sure.

I think that woodpeckers approach is the best one!

I wouldn't go outside in that weather either. Stay cozy and warm... I'd probably hibernate. My daughter doesn't see how I can stand not having hibernating season ... She loves it. Your pics are a delight as always, and I think the one of the squirrel needs to be on a greeting card for sure ...I can think of all kinds of occasions it would be perfect for.
