  11. Really beautiful macro shots of the tomato blossoms! And the white crowned sparrow is adorable. I have noticed a lack of birds - other than crows and hummingbirds - in our yard this past week. I guess they are heading south? It seems so quiet without their pretty songs.

  35. Who would have thought of photographing a tomato flower? Karen of course - nice one, it's very attractive. And then there's nothing quite like a home-grown tomato, so much better than the ones in the supermarkets.
And then my favourite sparrow - I love their cheeky distant whistle. Thanks Karen

  37. A lovely grab bag Karen. I hope you are feeling better. I have been having vision problems the last 3 weeks unrelated to MS or perhaps related in that getting over any infections takes a long time... Michelle

  41. Tomatoes! No fresh-off-the-vine Oregon tomatoes for us this summer. That's a definite downside of traveling to Alaska.

I hadn't thought of white-crowned sparrows in years. When we had our Oregon house we used to have a compost/brush pile out at the back corner of the property and those little guys (and their yellow-crowned cousins too) just loved that pile. Fun memories.
