Faux Painting

1. Hubbers got me an iPad mini for my "it's not my birthday" day, which is actually on Saturday.

2. The mini is the perfect size for me. Smaller than the regular iPad, but with exactly the same functions, it fits into my purse perfectly!

3. Of course the first app I bought was 'Waterlogue', which will convert your photos to a watercolour like painting. I love it!

4. I think the app really appeals to me because I used to paint, which I can't do anymore, due to some disabilities from Multiple Sclerosis. My vision fluctuates from day to day, and I have intention tremors.

5. I picked up the camera when I had to put down the paint brushes. Photography became my new medium. 'Waterlogue' is obviously not painting, but converting some of my photos with it is fun, and makes me happy!

  5. I have always wanted to be able to paint - and now I will thanks to your mention of Waterlogue. Your photo is gorgeous to begin with, and the painterly effect is another lovely version. This would be so pretty printed on fabric and used to make a pillow!

  8. Well done for adapting, rather than complaining. My last two clients have had ALS. It's a tough go.

Lovely time, playing with photos, isn't it?!

  21. I am sorry about your condition. That stinks - but you may not have created these amazing WOW photos otherwise....you seem to have found the perfect "when one door closes, another opens" philosophy! Yay!

And keep up the good work.

  22. Happy birthday!! I got the mini for Christmas year before last and LOVE it. I've never regretted getting the smaller size. Like you said, it fits easily in a purse and it's easy to hold in bed if you want to read or watch videos. I just wish I hadn't cracked mine by dropping it on the driveway. :(

  32. It makes you happy-that is all that matters.

I may need a new laptop as this one-even after emptying it of half its memory runs hard and has lots of pauses while doing things-plus my video card is old which makes it harder to run some of my editing programs.
