How Does Your Garden Grow 2

Bush cucumber
Lots of flowers, only one cuc so far!

Swiss chard
With a little bug heart eaten out on the lower leaf. I am an organic gardener.
IMHO swiss chard tastes lke grass, no matter how you prepare it!
I don't think I'll grow it next year.

This cucumber flower is beautiful, Karen. I wish they lasted longer, but then again, if they did, we wouldn't have cucumber, would we??? :-)

I'm with you on the Swiss chard. Don't like it at all.

Happy Sunday to you!

love the bright yellow flower. the veggie in the second photo looks like "alugbati", also called Malabar spinach here.

I think the chard looks like it would taste of grass!

Having said that we have a spinach recipe where the spinach "melts" into a lamb curry - and then even spinach does not taste that bad!!

PS: ankle will keep me off rough ground for at least another two weeks - sad face!

Hope you get more than just one cucumber. :)) I love Swiss chard but I suspect we don't all taste things the same way. Your plants look healthy.

My garden is doing great too. Yours looks very healthy. I have not planted swiss chard for I do not know how to cook it ^_^ Instead I planted broccoli and collard greens and I am loving it. Great shots thanks for sharing.

Your garden makes for beautiful pictures. Someone told me once that Swiss Chard has a nice earthy taste (in other words, it tastes like dirt). I actually don't mind it though. Just stir-fry the tender leaves in oil and butter until they wilt a bit. I also put it in a crustless quiche and we like it. It tastes earthy ;>)))
